An extensive refurbishment was completed in 1998. The project received the prestigious City of Adelaide Prize in 1999 and remains one of Adelaide's most well respected and dynamic hospitality venues. Work performed in the refurbishment achieves a balance between the new components and old elements that celebrates the history of the site. The Lion has set the benchmark for hospitality venues in SA. The Lion Hotel is State Heritage listed and is also on the Register
of the National Estate. |
